Puppy and Kitten Care
"The seeds of today are tomorrow's flowers."
At Healing Paws, we love to become part of your puppy or kitten’s health-care team. The younger you start a holistic healthcare plan, the longer and healthier your pet will live!
Our general puppy/kitten visits are scheduled at 10 weeks, 14 weeks and 6 months. At each visit, we perform a thorough physical examination to make sure your puppy or kitten is developing properly and make adjustments in the wellness plan when needed. We send you home with a written Wellness Treatment Plan to help you establish the best routines and optimal nutrition for your growing pet! In addition, we discuss pros/cons of topics such as vaccinations, spay/neuters, heartworm prevention and chemical flea control. In the end, we want you to feel confident you are making the best healthcare decisions for your pet.
Adult Pet Care
We live by the philosophy, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Therefore, we promote annual examinations and holistic consultations for every pet. This helps us prevent illness, disease or degeneration by catching changes early. By detecting changes early, we are able to more easily guide the body back into health before permanent changes occur.
We recommend annual blood work starting at: 10 years of age for cats, 10 years of age for small dogs, 8 years of age for medium-sized dogs and 6 years of age for larger-breed dogs. As always, we emphasize nutrition as the cornerstone of your pet’s health care plan. As Hippocrates said, “Let food by thy medicine”.
Senior Pet Care
We cherish every day, month or year we have with our senior dogs and cats. At Healing Paws, every 6 to 12 months we perform a thorough physical exam and make specific recommendations to help your pet maintain or regain optimal health.
As our pets age, we are often faced with health care concerns. Healing Paws has many options to help support your pet. We tailor every plan to fit your philosophy and your budget while advocating for what is best for your pet. Many pet parents are relieved to know there are holistic options that are not invasive and cost prohibitive. From glandular and herbal supplements to acupuncture and homeopathy, we help pets thrive in their senior years!
Helping Pets Lose Weight
At Healing Paws we know that lean pets can live up to 2 years longer than their overweight counter-parts. We love to help parents turn over a new leaf for their overweight pet.
Our doctors help determine your pet’s ideal weight and recommend how to achieve and maintain this weight. Healing Paws sees dog after dog and cat after cat, lose weight, gain muscle and add months if not years onto their lives! With simple diet changes, weight comes off very easily. We help you avoid highly processed foods with empty calories while adding in more natural whole foods and/or raw food diets.
